Let's face the truth about the public option: For now, it works
Comments
Within 10 years we won't have a doctor to serve us. Are you paying attention to this bill? I'm going to tell you to do what I told my Congresspersons - READ the F'ing BILL!
There is NO TORT REFORM in this bill.
There are provisions for increased costs including the taxpayer GUARANTEEing the UAW and ACORN contracts.
No company can sue the government for price fixing - hmmmm why is that in there? Could it be because the government intends to price fix and destroy the private sector?
Look - things cost money, doctors cost money, treatments cost money. Innovation will be stifled. Why become a doctor when you can become a lawyer and sue the heck out of the doctor?
Whatever problems we have in our system, this hunk of cr-p bill is going to make it worse.
Costs won't go down - or if they do, they'll be offset by increased costs elsewhere.
We need to encourage our best and brightest students to be come doctors - not the the lawyers that sue them.
You need to read the bill. It is rife w/UNINTENDED consequences. Forcing the public into government run healthcare and moving to single payer system.
If you're a Socialist, then say so. If not, then wake up.

Establishing a government-run public health plan to compete with private health plans may be a great idea, or the model may truly be rife with those nasty "unintended consequences" its opponents like to cite. I simply don't have enough data to tell you whether it's a good idea for the long term.
