MA hospitals tighten their belts, put big spending on hold

Here's a scene being echoed around the U.S: In Massachusetts, many hospitals are being forced to reconsider their big-ticket projects, a particularly notable problem given that many of the nation's richest teaching hospitals are based there. Expansion projects and major purchases are being reconsidered, while jobs are being eliminated to make up for shrinking revenues and investments.
