U.S. community hospitals saw record profit increase in 2007

It's about time we got some good news: the American Hospital Association has released figures showing that U.S. community hospitals saw record profits in 2007.

Net revenue grew at 6.7 percent while expenses only grew 5.7 percent. This resulted in a $43 billion increase in revenue, the largest single-year jump in margins in at least fifteen years.

The results show that while times are tough now with the economy struggling, community hospitals should have their extra revenues from last year to fall back on.
